About

Hello there! My name is Stacey, and I’m a Vietnamese writer based in California’s sunny Central Valley. You might have seen my blog posts, listicles, and ad copy floating around the Internet, but this space is specifically meant to be a thought and picture dump for my love of thrifting.

My favorite thrifted outfit of all time — this ruffly printed dress is a Sandy Liang and Target collab, and I paired it with a dainty little hair bow and my flamin’ hot Betsey Johnson purse.

Why should you trust me?

If you’re looking for someone to help you get more savvy with your shopping, you can trust me to guide you! First and foremost, I love shopping for discounts, and the thrift store is an amazing stop for finding high-quality items when you’re on a tight budget. I was raised by frugal immigrant parents who love a deal. As such, I derive great pleasure from a good find. Lately, I’ve also been reselling vintage wares and accessories to make a bit of extra income on the side, so I have a good intuitive sense for how to hunt down deals from a business perspective.

Now, the boring authoritative stuff about my “official” credentials as a writer.

  • After double majoring in Political Science and Rhetoric at UC Berkeley, I dove right into the world of commerce writing (instead of becoming a lawyer, to my parents’ chagrin).
  • Throughout my career, I have created thorough blogs with expert sources to help consumers make informed decisions about their purchases.  You can find examples of such work on sites like Real Simple. If you’re someone who wants extensive deep dives on the latest trends in home and style, I have also authored plenty of articles about fashion and lifestyle on sites such as The Daily Dot.
  • I was also a content marketer for over six years, creating copy for fashion and home brands such as QUAY, J.McLaughlin, Dragon Alliance, The Home Depot, and more — that’s to say that I have, from researching for hundreds of brand blogs, extensive industry knowledge about how things are made and how you can use and style them (particularly in the fashion and home spaces.)

Fun facts

You have now arrived at the fun facts section of this About Me page. I was born and raised in the Bay Area, but I now live with my parents in a hot little town in the Central Valley full of amazing thrift deals. When I’m not hunched over my laptop peddling words on the web or digging through thrift stores for vintage wares, I’m probably chasing after my three spoiled dogs (two shih tzus and one mystery breed), taking a brisk walk to MUNA, or winding down with a cozy mystery novel. As someone who started their writing career in the pop culture space, I also feel obligated to tell you that my comfort shows are Six Feet Under and The Haunting of Hill House.

Oh, and I have lots of stress-induced premature gray hairs.
